LAMPUNG BMX KOTA METRO
BMX merupakan salah satu olahraga ekstrem yang banyak peminatnya. BMX memiliki trik-trik sulit disetiap melakukan aksinya namun, inilah yang menjadi daya tarik dan motivasi agar dapat menguasainya dengan lebih baik. Nama BMX tentu sudah tidak asing lagi terdengar di telinga kita, khususnya di kalangan remaja. Penggoes sepeda yang satu ini beratraksi dengan gaya bebas diatas sepeda dengan keterampilan dan trik-trik tertentu. Beraksi dengan BMX tidak bisa dilakukan semua orang, butuh nyali, kesungguhan, berlatih tekun, dan konsisten untuk bisa menguasainya.
Dewasa ini, kepopuleran sepeda BMX mulai redup seiring berkembangnya berbagai jenis sepeda yang bersifat touring. Namun, untuk saat ini khususnya di Kota Metro sepeda BMX kembali menjadi tren. Di kawasan Kota Metro kegemaran bermain sepeda BMX mulai bangkit kembali dengan ditandai munculnya Komunitas Lampung BMX di Kota Metro. Munculnya komunitas ini berawal dari sekumpulan remaja yang menuangkan hobinya dalam bermain sepeda BMX secara freestyle di seputaran lapangan samber Kota Metro, lama-kelamaan aktivitas mereka mengundang perhatian anak muda lainnya yang memilki ketertarikan yang sama. Akhirnya timbulah ide berlatih bersama dan membentuk satu komunitas yang mereka beri nama “Lampung BMX Kota Metro” yang resmi dibentuk pada tahun 2014 yang lalu.
Awalnya lokasi untuk mengeksplore diri mereka berada di Lapangan Samber Kota Metro, karena dirasa kurang kondusif dan terlalu banyak yang menggunakan lapangan tersebut, akhirnya mereka memutuskan untuk pindah di halaman Masjid Taqwa kota Metro, karena tempat tersebut dianggap cocok dan strategis untuk berlatih mengingat berada di pusat perkotaan. Jadwal rutin latihan Lampung BMX Kota Metro sendiri diadakan setiap hari sabtu sekitar jam 16.00- , dan minggu pagi saat bertepatan dengan CFD (Car Free Day). Khoirul Azis salah satu anggota Lampung BMX Kota Metro, menjelaskan saat ini anggota yang rutin berkumpul sekitar 5 orang dengan latar belakang berbeda-beda, Ia menambahkan anggotanya ini sangat mengutamakan kebersamaan dan kekeluargaan.
