Dimulai sejak 2001, dengan alamat: Metro Pusat, dekat Lapangan Samber. Pedagangnya adalah Bapak Jali, modal awalnya hanya Rp. 2.500.000,00 /gerobak, namun sekarang beliau telah memiliki 15 buah gerobak. Omsetnya mencapai Rp. 900.000,00/ gerobak, dengan pangsa pasar: Metro Pusat, Kampus, Ganjar Agung, dan Palem Indah.

1. Ikan sarden
2. Tepung terigu protein tinggi
3. Rempah-rempah
4. Air panas

Bahan sambal kacang :
1. Kacang tanah
2. Cabai rawit hijau
3. Cabai merah
4. Rempah-rempah
5. Minyak goreng

Cara pembuatan :
1. Ikan sarden digiling
2. Semua bahan somay dimasukkan kedalam sebuah wadah kemudian diaduk sampai kalis.
3. Diamkan adonan selama 1-3 jam supaya bahan somay mengembang dan rasa menjadi satu
4. Kukus hingga matang

Jumlah produksi per hari mencapai 3000 butir per hari, mulai produksi pukul 03.00 WIB setiap harinya, dan pemasaran barang dagangan mulai pukul 07.30 WIB. Para pegawai bersiap-siap pada pukul 07.30 dan pukul 08.00 WIB para pegawai mulai bekerja, dan berakhirnya proses pemasaran bahan dagangan bergantung pada barang dagangan. Jadi pemasaran dilakukan sampai barang dagangan habis terjual semua.
Sasaran utama dalam pemasaran barang dagangan adalah masyarakat yang ada di sekitar terutama para pelajar dan mahasiswa.
Cara penghitungan bagi hasil kepada para pegawai yaitu dengan cara harga perbutir somay-nya dijual kepada konsumen seharga Rp. 1000,00. Setiap pegawai akan menyetor hasil penjualan somay kepada pemilik usaha yang perbutirnya dihargai Rp. 700,00 sehingga setiap pegawai mendapat upah Rp. 300,00 per butir setiap somay-nya. Besar omset yang didapatkan dalam sehari adalah 3000 butir x Rp. 300,00 = Rp.900.000,00, jadi omset yang didapatkan setiap pegawai perharinya adalah Rp. 900.000,00. Dalam satu hari mencapai 3000 butir x Rp. 1000,00 = Rp. 3000.000,00 (pendapatan kotor)

Sebenarnya beliau asli orang Bandung. Dulu saya bekerja disalah satu perusahaan yang bernama PT. Media Islamic yang bergerak di bidang penyiaran Islam khususnya yang berupa media cetak seperti majalah, surat kabar. Kemudian  ditugaskan ke daerah Lampung tepatnya di daerah Kalianda. Karena saya sudah mulai mengetahui sedikit tentang daerah Sumatera, saya berniat untuk datang ke Metro untuk ikut terjun ke dunia perdagangan khususnya penjualan somay. Saya datang ke Lampung tepatnya pada tahun 2010 sehingga saya sudah berada di Lampung kurang lebih 6 tahun (sejak 2010). Walaupun saya mempunyai kesibukan untuk berjualan somay, namun saya juga masih aktif di perusahaan yang telah membawa saya ke provinsi Lampung ini. Ketika saya sudah sukses nanti, saya akan kembali ke Bandung.
